This 3D Kinetic Typography Animation is a visualisation of the word „complexity“. Our goal was to use all design elements at hand like 3D objects, the motion of the Camera, Editing and Sound Design to create a coherent visualisation of the word and it’s meaning. Therefore the main idea had to be incorporated on all audiovisual levels. Everything from the choice of font (in this case we used a font that was completely built in 3D but was based on the pretty geometric font Futura) to the finishing touches is in line with the underlying idea.
Image and sound
With projects like this or any other commercial project, one thing is absolutely essential: the conformity of the visual and auditive parts, the 3D Animation and the Sound Design. This is important especially when visualising an abstract word in a 3D Kinetic Typography Animation like we did here or a company’s core message. Often this can only happen when multiple senses are stimulated simultaneously, because the interaction of different stimuli can help to understand everything as a whole.
Many projects have strict guidelines as a basis, like the Corporate Design of a company, product or the main idea. With those in mind we’ve created a specific design and finished the product while basing every design element on the concept and the meaning behind it. That way the message of a commercial or a company’s principal can be communicated in a clear and transparent way.
Possibilities with 3D Animation
The beauty of this project or any other project that is entirely set in a 3D space, are the endless possibilities: objects, spaces, camera movement – all of it can be chosen and customised to your liking. The only limits are those of your own imagination or in some cases technical boundaries.
In this 3D Kinetic Typography project the complexity of the 3D objects were very important, and we had to find a way to create it efficiently while still keeping the rendering process fast.
